Aliağa
Aliağa is a district of Izmir province in Turkey. The district is bordered by Bergama to the north, Foça and Menemen districts to the south, Manisa province to the east, and the Aegean Sea to the west. It bears traces of Izmir and Bergama civilizations. Aigai, Kyme, Myrna and Gryneion are 4 of the 12 cities that constitute the largest and most important among the more than 30 Aeolian cities on the shores of the Aegean Sea.
While it was connected to Menemen district, it was made a district in 1982. While agriculture was the main economic activity in Aliağa in the past, it has transformed into an industrial and port city with state and private sector investments.
