Alaplı is a district of Zonguldak province. It is 58 km away from Zonguldak city center. Its population is 20,287. Fishing and hazelnut production are carried out. The sub-industry of Erdemir Demir Çelik A.Ş. is also one of the sources of income of this place. Most of the population consists of workers. There are yarn and hazelnut factories in the district. The Bölüklü Plateau and Honey Festival has been held in Bölüklü Plateau, located within the borders of Gümeli Town within the district borders, since 2010. There is a yew tree in the plateau that is over 4,100 years old, which was discovered during laboratory examination. This tree is one of the 5 oldest trees in the world.
