Altınekin
It is a district of Konya province. It is 67 km away from the city centre.
The history of the district dates back to ancient times. The district, which was an important trade centre during the Anatolian Seljuk period, lived its brightest period during this period. Zıvarık Inn in the city centre is the most important building from this period.
However, as a result of the barrenness of the land and the inability of the historical Silk Road to maintain its former importance, the trade life in the district also faded in parallel with the decline of Anatolian trade. During the Ottoman Period, it was a region famous for agriculture and horse breeding.
In the Republican Period, it became a developed settlement centre with all public institutions. However, with the transfer of these institutions to other districts, it turned into a small township. In the following period, while Altınekin was a town, it became a district with the Law No. 3292 published in the Official Gazette dated 4 July 1987 and numbered 19507.
