Altınova
While Altınova was a village in Karamürsel District of Kocaeli in 1930, it gained town status with the population increase. With the Decree Law No. 550 dated June 6, 1995, it gained district status and was connected to Yalova Province. Altınova has 3 towns, Tavşanlı, Kaytazdere and Subaşı, and 13 villages within the district borders. Located at the intersection of the E-5 highway and the ancient pilgrimage and trade (IPEK) road, Altınova was established in 1929 with the purchase of the Altınzade Farm by 40 families immigrating from Rusçuk, Bulgaria. Fruit growing and greenhouse cultivation are among the factors shaping the economy of Altınova. 65% of the outdoor and ornamental plants produced in our country are produced within the borders of Altınova District. Fruit species such as apple, peach, pear, quince, cherry, sour cherry, kiwi and strawberry are grown in the region, as well as all kinds of vegetables.
