Aralık

Aralık is a district of Igdir province.

Its distance to the city center is 45 km. It constitutes the most extreme point of Iğdır and Turkey at the same time. December was liberated from the Russian occupation on November 14, 1920, and while it was one of the district centers of Iğdır district under the name of "Başköy" until April 1, 1960, it was made a "district" administrative unit on this date and connected to Kars province. It has 22 villages.

The district of Aralık constitutes the easternmost point of Iğdır and Turkey. It is the only crossroads where Turkey has neighboring and common borders with three countries. To the east of the district is Iran with a 49 km border. To the north is the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan with a 10 km border and Armenia with a 56 km border. To the west is the province of Igdir, and to the south are the Great and Lesser Ararat Mountains and Doğubayazıt district.

Except for a few hamlets, there are no villages without electricity and telephones, and there is sufficient drinking water in the center. There are no cultural events such as theater, cinema, fairs, fairs or fairs in the district except for the annual Nevruz celebrations.
