Ataşehir
Ataşehir is a district located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Located in the eastern half of Istanbul, in the western part of the Kocaeli Peninsula, the district has no seashore. In 2008, it gained district status by joining some neighborhoods from Kadıköy, Ümraniye and Üsküdar and became one of the 39 districts of Istanbul. It is surrounded by Kadıköy from the southwest, Üsküdar from the west, Ümraniye from the north, Sancaktepe from the east and Maltepe from the southeast. The population of the district as of 2022 is 423,127 and it has 17 neighborhoods. The concept of West Ataşehir emerged when construction companies realized their housing and office projects in this region due to the suitability of the lands on the western side of Ataşehir. Buildings such as Varyap Meridian and Uphill Court are located in the western part of the district. Additionally, Ülker Sports Arena, established in 2012, is located in Batı Ataşehir.
