Aybastı
Aybastı is a district in the inner (south) part of Ordu, away from the sea. A significant part of the population consists of Chepnis, who are Turkmens. Although it is not known exactly where the name comes from, it is thought to come from concepts such as the Moon, Sun, smoke, or the lunar eclipse, which are sacred to the Gokturks and Oghuzs. In ancient times, it was known as ibasti/ebasya. According to some sources, the history of the district dates back to the years before Christ, due to the existence of cave structures from prehistoric times. It was Turkified with the raids of the Turks at the beginning of the second millennium and is still within the borders of Türkiye today.
