Çamlıdere
Çamlıdere is a district of Ankara province. It is located in the northwest of Ankara and is surrounded by Kızılcahamam from the east and south, Gerede from the north, and Güdül and Beypazarı districts from the west. The distance to Ankara city center is 99 km. The district remained a subdistrict of Kızılcahamam district until 1953, and gained district status with law no. 6191 on 02.12.1953. Although there is no source of definitive information about the history of Çamlıdere District, there is a Mosque in the Peçenek Town belonging to the Seljuk period in the district, some village names such as Peçenek, Ozmuş, Yahşihan, Dağkuzören bear the names of Seljuk lords and ruins from the Seljuk Period can be found here and there. . In addition, ruins such as graves and settlements from the Byzantine Period are also found. There is also the Prophet Muhammad's companion in Çamlıdere district center. There is the tomb of Sheikh Ali Samarkandi, the fourth descendant of Omar bin Khattab. The mausoleum, which underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2014 - 2015, is frequently visited by citizens from every region of our country. In this newly built large visiting area, which also includes the tomb, there are tea gardens, children's playgrounds, fountains, shops selling local products, a museum, a library and a bagel bakery. The parking lot, which was paid in previous years, was expanded and became free. A Nature Festival is held in the district every year, usually in July. Some entertainment is organized in this nature festival. These are Aluçdağı Oil Wrestling, music festival and sinsin games. In the traditional "Çamlıdere Aluç Mountain Festival", events are organized, including the commemoration day of Sheikh Ali Samarkandi. Çamkoru forest camp and recreation area and Benli Plateau are located within the district borders. Çamlıdere Culture House and Museum, which was implemented in 2015 with the joint efforts of the district people and the municipality, was opened to visitors. Culture House and Museum was created by restoring a Çamlıdere house that is more than 100 years old. The museum is not limited to items and objects that reflect the history, culture, traditions and customs of the district; There are sections and animations that remind the traditional life of Çamlıdere people, handicrafts, cuisine, old shops, everything about the lost and forgotten past, and take visitors on a journey through the past of the district. In the third quarter of 2016, Çamlıdere Nature and Animal Museum was opened to visitors, 200 meters from Çamlıdere Culture House and Museum. The museum, where endemic plant species unique to Çamlıdere and animals that survive in the region are introduced, can be visited 7 days a week.
