Çandır

Çandır is a district of Yozgat province.

Although there is no exact information about the history of the district, it is thought to be a settlement dating back to the Hittite period. Again, according to historical ruins, Çandır was a settlement during the Byzantine period. Later, it was used as a settlement by the Seljuk Dynasty and the Dulkadiroğlus of the Anatolian Principalities, respectively.

Çandır became a municipality in 1930, a sub-district in 1948 and a district on May 20, 1990. With the first district governor taking office on 15.7.1991, the legally acquired district status came into practice.
