Cizre
Cizre is a district of Şırnak province in Turkey.
It was founded on the right bank of the Tigris River at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. According to historical accounts, the settlements in Cizre date back to before Noah's Flood. While it was the center of a district of Mardin province since the beginning of the Republican period, it was annexed to Şırnak on May 16, 1990. Its area is 460 square kilometers.
