Dargeçit
Dargeçit is a district of Mardin.
In the past, Dargeçit was known by names such as Kher-Boran, Kfar-Boran, Kerburan, Kerboran. Dargeçit and its region were introduced to Christianity during the rule of the Samanids in the 4th century AD. It is rumored that the first settlers in Dargeçit were a family known as the Mardokelis. Although the exact date is not known, it is said that an Assyrian family founded the city. It is also said to be located on trade routes. Dargeçit, which grew with the migrations it received over time, became a city where five hundred families lived in the early 1900s.
On December 30, 1985, it received municipality status and became a town. Dargeçit was separated from Midyat district in 1987 and became a district.
