Doğankent
Doğankent is a district of Giresun province. The oldest known names of the district were Manastırbükü and Harşıt. It was given to the district because of the habit of the Turkmens living in the region to feed Doğan intensively in the past. Many monasteries were active during the Christian period in the district, which has a high literacy rate in terms of education and training. During the Turkish rule, a madrasah was opened, which was transformed into the Junior High School, and important scientists were educated in this madrasah. Ömer Nasuhi BİLMEN, Elmalı Muhammet, İsmail Hakkı ERZURUMLU are the first ones that come to mind. There are a total of 11 schools in the district, including 1 high school (This high school has been converted into a Multi-Program High School since September 2010), 1 Imam-Hatip High School, 1 kindergarten, 3 independent primary schools with 8 classes and 6 primary schools with combined classes. Since 1990, due to the small number of students and the school building being unusable, there have been 7 BSIOs. has been closed. There are 3 actively working kindergartens, 1 of which is detached, within the primary school. There are 3 primary schools, 1 mixed-class primary school, 1 multi-program high school, and 1 imam-hatip high school.
