Doğanyurt
Doğanyurt is a district of Kastamonu province located in the Black Sea Region of the Republic of Turkey.
Before the Republic, a district organization was established in 1846 under the name of "Hosalay" and an outpost organization was established in the same year to fight pirates coming from the sea. After the proclamation of the Republic, the name "Hosalay" was changed to "Meset" and it was renamed Doğanyurt with a law enacted in 1962. Until 1990, the parish organization continued. With the abolition of the parish organization, it was reverted to village status. On May 9, 1990, it became a district with the law enacted on May 9, 1990 and became a district on September 1, 1990.
