Felahiye

Felahiye is a district of Kayseri province. The history of the district dates back to the Hittite period. There are many historical ruins in the surrounding area from the Hittite period. Afterwards, it came under Roman and Ottoman rule. According to the artifacts found within the district borders, its history dates back to the Hittites. After the Hittites, various civilizations reigned in the district and its surroundings, the most prominent of which are Roman and Ottoman. The first name of the district is Rumiyorum. While it was a township within the Boğazlıyan District of Yozgat Province in the early years of the Republic, it was named "Felâhiye", meaning "Liberation", in 1925 by the decision of the Yozgat Provincial Permanent Committee. The district was connected to Güneşli "Mancusun", one of the central sub-districts of Kayseri Province, in 1926. It became a subdistrict on 15.10.1930 and later became a district on 07.10.1957 with law no. 7033.
