Gaziemir
Gaziemir is a district of Izmir province in Turkey. The district is bordered by Karabağlar in the west and north, Buca in the east and Menderes in the south. The surface area of the district is 70 km².[2] Its historical name until 1965 was Seydiköy.
Gaziemir, which has a population structure in which Rumeli immigrants constitute the predominant element, has become a different settlement unit that contains an important military potential with the establishment of the Air Technical Training Command, which constitutes the core of the military units within the borders of the district today, and the Transportation Brigade Command, which developed in the following years. Gaziemir has emerged as a region where industry and trade have developed in recent years. In the center, on Akçay Street, there are textile and furniture production factories and sales stores. Industrial organizations gather around the town of Sarnıç. In addition to its industrial and commercial strength, Gaziemir has also gained importance with its superior housing potential. Adnan Menderes Airport, Gaziemir Air Base, Fuar İzmir, Aegean Free Zone and Space Camp Turkey are located within the borders of Gaziemir. Izmir Optimum Outlet is also located here.
