Gölyaka
Gölyaka is the district of Düzce. It is called Gölyaka because it was built around Lake Efteni and is surrounded by mountains. It is 200 km from Istanbul and 250 km from Ankara. The majority of the population earns their living from agriculture. Cattle and sheep farming and hazelnuts are the most important sources of income. Apart from this, textile factories, although small-scale, also contribute to the district economy.
