Gülyalı

Gülyalı is a district of Ordu province. Its old name is Abulhayr. After becoming a district in 1987, it took the name Gülyalı. It is at the 8th km from Ordu province towards Giresun. The majority of the population consists of Turkmen/Chepni. The source of income is mainly hazelnut production. In addition to hazelnut production, kiwi and walnut production is also carried out in the agricultural area. In the field of animal husbandry, beekeeping, that is, chestnut honey production, is carried out along with dairy and livestock farming. In recent years, tourism investments have come to the fore with the investments made in the district and the contribution of the Blue Flag Project. Gülyalı is one of the seaside districts of Ordu province with blue flag beaches and beaches. Ordu-Giresun Airport, built on the sea, which was planned to be built in the district for many years, is the first in Turkey and Europe and the third in the world, was completed in 2015 and flights started to operate.
