Gündoğmuş

Gündoğmuş is a district of Antalya province.

The present location of Gündoğmuş, which dates back to ancient times, was inhabited during the Roman period. It can be said that the Roman ruins within the borders of the district, the ruins of Kaseyir City in Taşahır Mevkii, and the Roman ruins in Kese Mevkii near Senir Village are the oldest ruins. In later periods, especially during the Turkification of Anatolia after the Victory of Malazgirt, the city remained under the sovereignty of the Seljuk Dynasty and was annexed to the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Bayezid II.

According to a rumor; it is said that a family who left the village of Iksile in Konya for various reasons settled in this region and later it was called "Eksere". While Eksere village was a village of Akseki until 1936, it was made a district under the name of "Gündoğmuş" in 1936.
