Honaz
Honaz is a district of Denizli Province.
Honaz Mountain, which gave its name to the district, is the highest mountain in the Aegean Region with a height of 2,571 meters and Honaz district was established on the northern slope of this mountain. The population of Honaz, which has an area of 504 km², is 33,765 according to 2020. This population consists of 18,963 men and 14,802 women. As a percentage: 56.2% male and 43.8% female. The climate of Honaz is under the influence of the Aegean region climate. Since the district is located on the northern slopes of Honaz Mountain, the amount of precipitation is quite high (856.6 mm per year) and it is rainy in all seasons. With this feature, the climate of Honaz is especially suitable for cherry cultivation.
The central population of the district is 10,600. It is famous for cherries, peaches, cotton and paradise apples. The largest vocational school of Pamukkale University is here. There are around 2660 students. There are also 15 programs.
