Kuluncak

Kuluncak is a district of Malatya province.

The settlement history of the district dates back to 100 or 120 years ago. Years ago, the residents of Bıyıkbogazı, Başören, Konaktepe and Karıncalık neighborhoods, who led a highland life, settled in Kuluncak, which was used as a shelter in winter, to spend the winter in the district in order to shelter with their herds. In particular, the inhabitants of the plateaus of Konaktepe and Başören villages laid the groundwork for the formation of Kuluncak by settling in a secluded place on the water's edge over time. The name of the district is thought to come from the word kuytucak because it is in a secluded area. It was later changed to Kuluncak.
