Kumluca

Kumluca is a district of Antalya province. As of the end of 2022, its population was 73,496.

The first settlement of Kumluca was established in 1830 under the name of Sarı Kavak at the foot of the hills about 5 km east of the center of the district. Finike, which was separated from Elmalı, and Iğdırmağardıç Suburb of Antalya were divided into two as Kumluca and Kemer; Kemer was connected to Antalya and Kumluca was connected to Finike. At this time, Sarıkavak is a neighborhood of Iğdırmağardıç Sub-province. Today's Kuzca Village was a separate district at that time. In 1924, the center of Kuzca Sub-parish was moved to Gödene (Altınyaka) and Kumluca Sub-parish was established in the place where today's district center is located, where nomadic people settled and became a crowded center. Kumluca sub-district grew even more later, and with the law numbered 7033, it was separated from Finike in 1958 and became a district.
