Kuyucak
Kuyucak is a district of Aydın province in the Aegean Region. It is surrounded by Nazilli district in the west, Buharkent, Tavas and Buldan districts in the east, Sarıgöl district in the north, and Karacasu district in the south. 28 neighborhoods are connected to the district. Agriculture and animal husbandry have come to the fore in the district. Cotton, oranges, figs and olives are generally grown in the district. Chestnuts, walnuts, cherries and apples are grown in the high-lying neighborhoods of the district. The district's water needs are provided by the surrounding mountains. In the district, there is a vocational high school affiliated with Adnan Menderes University with a capacity of 800 students, 3 primary schools, 1 multi-program high school and an Anatolian high school. Aydın province, which is known as the land of figs, has a plant named "İlek", known as the man of figs, which looks like a fig, but when the time comes (from the first days of June to approximately the 20th day), a fly forms and the resulting fly enters the fig and inoculates it, thus increasing the durability and taste of the fig. Kuyucak district hosts the source of the fruit, which has a constitutive function. Kuyucak is also a settlement that was the subject of Sabahattin Ali's novel Kuyucaklı Yusuf.
