Mustafakemalpaşa, or Kırmasti, is a district of Bursa province. Located in the south of Uluabat Lake, Mustafakemalpaşa is surrounded by Orhaneli in the east, Büyükorhan in the southeast, Kepsut and Dursunbey of Balıkesir in the southwest, Susurluk of Balıkesir in the west, Karacabey and Uluabat Lake in the north, and the central district in the northeast. Its height above the sea is 40 meters. The distance to Bursa city center is 88 kilometers. It is 71 kilometers from Balıkesir city center. It is closer to Balıkesir province than Bursa province. It has the characteristics of Marmara climate and Mediterranean climate. Mustafakemalpaşa, where more than 100,000 people live in total; It consists of 1 municipality and 132 neighborhoods. Istanbul-Izmir Highway passes through the westernmost part of the district.
In the district, formerly known as Kirmasti (Kremastre), the Hittite Civilization, the Bithynian Kingdom ruled; a settlement called Miletopolis was established. The city, which became a bishopric center in 300 AD, passed under Byzantine, Seljuk and Karesioğulları rule after the Romans. It is believed that Kirmasti was named after Kirmastorya, the female administrator of the town during the Byzantine period. It was annexed to the Ottoman lands in 1336. Albanians and Circassians who fled the turmoil in the Balkans and Caucasus constitute an important part of the district population. On July 2, 1920, it was occupied by the Greeks and liberated from occupation on September 14, 1922.
