Polatlı
Polatlı is the closest district to Ankara (76 km), in the western part of Ankara province, on the Eskişehir-Ankara State Highway. It became a district on 1 August 1926 with law no. 877. The earliest known history of human settlement in Polatlı District dates back to B.C. It dates back to 3000 years ago. In the ancient city of Gordion, located in Yassıhöyük District, BC. It is known that there was a settlement around 3000 years ago. The main civilizations living in the region are the Hittite, Phrygian, Lydian, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations, respectively. The current settlement of Polatlı district center was formed in 1860 in Menteşe District and Zafer District in Sivritepe locality. The real development of the settlement took place when the Ankara-Istanbul railway passed here in 1892.
