Pütürge
Pütürge is a district of Malatya province. It is 74 km from Malatya. Its height above the sea is 1.250 meters. The district has 1 sub-district, 1 town, 2 municipalities, 62 villages and 325 hamlets.
The district is rugged and steep in terrain. There is almost no flat land. The territory of the district consists of the bottom of the wide valley of the Şiro Stream, which flows into the Euphrates River, and the mountainous areas around this valley. Settlements are concentrated in mountainous and hilly areas. For this reason, lands suitable for agriculture are located on the slopes of mountains and hills.
It is not known when the first settlement was made here. It is said that there were Samanoğulları coming from Kütahya in the district. In addition to these, Kopuzoğulları, whose origin is unknown, is a community that came and settled here later.
The majority of the people of Pütürge work in the textile and plastic industry. Pütürge gives great migration to cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Kayseri and Izmir.
