Sarıyahşi
Sarıyahşi is the district of Aksaray. It is not known exactly where and how he got the name Sarıyahşi. However, according to the information in İbrahim Hakkı Konyalı's work titled Monuments and Inscriptions and History of Şereflikoçhisar, he received it from Yahşi Khan. Yahşi Han, a Turkish soldier, died injured while passing through Sarıyahşi with his soldiers. The place, which was known as "Sarı" until then, merged with "Yahşi" and became known as Sarıyahşi. In the dictionary, yahşi means "beautiful". So Sarıyahşi also means Sarıgüzel. Sarıyahşi became a town in 1957. While its location was Şereflikoçhisar district of Ankara province, it became a district with the law no. 3587 dated 15.06.1989 and was connected to Aksaray, which is a province, with the same law.
