Şefaatli
Şefaatli is a district located in the south of Yozgat province, bordering Kırşehir and Nevşehir and 41 km away from the city center.
Şefaatli, which was a small village during the Ottoman period, started to develop after the Ankara-Kars railway was put into service during the Republic of Turkey. It became a district of Yozgat in 1954.
It is 907 m above sea level. There are 3 town municipalities and 41 villages in the district, which has a surface area of 1,870 km². Most of the district, which has a continental climate, is steppe. River banks are generally wooded.
Most of the district's people earn their living from agriculture, animal husbandry and industry. The main products grown are barley, wheat, chickpeas, lentils, sugar beets, beans, onions, vetch, fruits, clover, grapes, apples and quince. The main animals kept in the district, where cattle and small livestock are raised, are cattle, sheep, and Angora Goat.
