Seyhan

Seyhan is a district of Adana Province in Turkey. The district is considered to be entirely within the city center of Adana and Seyhan Municipality, which is a lower level municipality, serves the entire district. Seyhan is home to 35% of Adana province residents and about half of Adana province residents. It has the status of the fifth most populous metropolitan district in Turkey. Seyhan is the first settlement of Adana and today it is the administrative, business and cultural center of the city. Historical Tepebağ Neighborhood and Great Clock, Ulu Mosque, Ramazanoğlu Mansion and Sabancı Merkez Mosque are home to important structures. Adana Culture and Art Center and Sabancı Cultural Center, Seyhan Cultural Center and Metropol Theater Hall operate in the same district. The district takes its name from the Seyhan River, which forms its eastern side.
