Sivrice
Sivrice is a district of Elazig located on the shores of Lake Hazar. Its population is 10,710 people.
In February 1936, it was established in Dedeyolu village with the instructions of Atatürk. In 1938, it was transferred to its current location on the shore of Lake Hazar. Although the establishment date of the district is not very old, there is an old settlement on the islet in the lake and its continuation. It has not been determined exactly who lived in which date.
There is a ruined monastery on the islet, followed by the ruins of houses and other structures, most of which are intact in the water. In Sivrice district, which has become an important tourism center of the surrounding provinces in recent years and has made progress towards becoming one, there are recreation areas and tent city places where people can have a holiday in the summer months.
