Susurluk is a district of Balıkesir. The population of the district center is 23.800. Susurluk district is a district of Balıkesir province and is located in the north-east of the province. Mustafakemalpaşa district of Bursa is located in the east of the district, Karacabey district of Bursa and Bandırma district of Balıkesir in the north, Manyas district in the west, Karesi district in the southwest, Kepsut district in the south and southeast. It is known for its buttermilk and toast. A traffic accident in 1996 made it world-renowned.
