Yahyalı
Yahyalı is a district of Kayseri province in the Central Anatolia Region. The district was founded by Turkish forces coming to Anatolia. The leaders of these forces were Seyyid Ali and Yahya Ali (Yahya Gazi). The tomb of Seyyid Ali is in the garden of Yahyalı State Hospital, and the tomb of Yahya Gazi is in the courtyard of Yahyalı Ulu Mosque. Yahyalı, which was connected to Kozan until 1926, was connected to Kayseri after Kozan Province was transformed into a district in 1926. The district center and the plains in the north are in the Central Anatolia Region, and the forested part where the Aladağlar Mountains are located in the south of the district is within the borders of the Mediterranean Region. Its altitude above sea level is 1210 meters. Zamantı River passing through the district borders, Kapuzbaşı Waterfalls stream, Derebağ Waterfall stream and Kocaçay flowing through the district are the main rivers. The district was established in a valley on the plains surrounding the Sultan Marshes to the south of Mount Erciyes and on the east-facing slopes of Sakız Mountain. The district was established in the south of Kayseri Province and is adjacent to Develi to the north, Adana's Feke District to the southeast, Niğde's Dündarlı town to the west, Niğde's Çamardı to the southwest and south, and Kayseri's Yeşilhisar to the northwest. Yahyalı, which is the continuation of the Develi Plain, which is a depression plain, is in the third degree earthquake zone. There are plenty of apple orchards in the plain area. Although the southern parts of the district are mountainous, there is a forest area of 44,709 hectares, 11,674 hectares of which are fertile and 33,034 hectares of which are degraded, in the southeast, close to the borders of Adana. The amount of pasture qualified land is 558.4 hectares. The effects of the Mediterranean climate are seen, although not completely, in the low-altitude forested region in the south of the district, where the typical Central Anatolia Region continental climate prevails. The district has an average temperature of 20 °C in summer and -18 °C in winter. The average annual maximum precipitation is 500 mm.
