Yenifakılı
Yenifakılı is a district located in the south of Yozgat province, bordering Nevşehir.
Located at an altitude of 1036 m above sea level, the population of Yenifakılı, including its villages and towns, is 6,360 according to the 2010 census (TUIK data). The district, which has a surface area of 378 km², has a town municipality named Bektaşlı and 6 villages. Most of the district, which has a continental climate, is steppe.
Most of the district's people earn their living from agriculture and animal husbandry. The main products grown are barley, wheat, chickpeas, lentils, sugar beets, potatoes and beans. The main animals kept in the district, where cattle and small livestock are raised, are cattle, sheep, hair goats and angora goats. There are flour factories as industrial facilities in the district.
After the declaration of the Republic, Yenifakılı, which was connected to Avanos, a district of Kırşehir at that time, was connected to Boğazlıyan district of Yozgat in 1929. In 1990, it was separated from Boğazlıyan and became a district.
